Exploring Nature Macro Photography

Course starts  10/20/25 and runs for 4 weeks
Weekly Zoom sessions are on Wednesdays - 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, & 11/12  at 6PM CST.
Sessions are recorded for playback.


  Experience the magical world of macro photography- without props, minimal gear and any environment. Join Sarah Gupta as she shows you how to slow down, relax and manually focus our cameras. She will teach us how to pay attention to the light and make you more keenly aware of the small worlds that surround you.

Allow yourself to get lost in the moment, and seek sanctuary from the chaos of life. Macro photography gives us the opportunity to be resourceful and to see our everyday world with new eyes. A macro lens or close focusing lens is required (smart phones are OK). Students should be familiar with and comfortable shooting in manual mode but not necessary.

 "This is an all-encompassing class from in the field to editing. It covered a wide range of skills and topics. If you don't have a macro lens, don't worry, Sarah is creative. She gives you a "test drive" option of the macro word before you invest in a lens. You can easily participate in this class without a macro lens. You won't feel left out because of a lack of gear. There are plenty of "how to and watch me" videos along with opportunities to ask questions. Sarah also gives you that push to the next level. I found it offered an abundance of creative ideas and detailed lesson plans."

Course Curriculum

Sarah Gupta

Sarah lives in Rochester, Minnesota with her husband, son and a few furry kids. She is a natural light photographer who uses dark and light contrasts to create depth. Sarah is drawn to environmental portraiture, lifestyle photography, fine art, nature and loves layering color and tones to create soft transitions in her imagery. Sarah is attracted to the light, which was used by painters of the golden age. Her passion for painting and drawing was discovered through photography. You can find how she captures her daily life via her Instagram account: @sarahkossakgupta. In 2017 she became a Click Pro and in 2018 a Click & Company mentor and instructor. In the spring of 2019, Sarah released her first eBook: The Art of The Photograph. She is currently in the process of writing her next eBook, Paint Your Story: A Photographic Journey to Creating Your Own Authentic Self. Currently, Sarah is an instructor with Women's Photography Circle and has a 4-week workshop called, The Unseen World: Exploring Macro Photography.
